Who can apply?
The program is only open to students who will be in the 11th grade during the school year 2022-2023
How many students will be accepted into the program?
30 students from the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area will be accepted into the pilot program.
How long is the program?
The accelerated pilot program will be an 8-week self-paced online course with weekly virtual cohort meetings with (SME) Subject Matter Experts, Industry Professionals, and Jus One Academy.
How do I apply?
The application will officially be released in July 2022. The application process includes; a resume, transcript, 2 letters of recommendation, an essay, and an interview.
When does the program begin and end?
The program will begin in October 2022 and end in December 2022.
How are students selected?
All application packages will go through a first-round selection process by leaders in the participating schools and/or districts. Once in-house participants are selected, the completed application will be reviewed by the Jus One Academy Board of Directors.
Will this course be included on my transcript?
The inclusion of the course on an official transcript is at the discretion of each school.
What are the technology requirements?
All students must have a laptop or tablet with video chat capability, including a webcam and microphone.
How can I learn more about the program?
We are currently scheduling dates for information sessions at various schools across Maryland, DC, and Virginia. We will provide a schedule on our website of the schools and community centers where information sessions and town hall meetings will take place. When does the application open?
The application for the program will open in July 2022. Selected applicants will be notified in September 2022.
What certification programs are being offered?
The certification first pilot program will be in Design Thinking and Social Entrepreneurship. The certification program for; Real Estate Development will open in October 2022 and the certification in Sports Management and NIL certification will open in January 2023.
Will the program be offered annually?
We anticipate offering the Design Thinking & Social Entrepreneurship program annually to more students, after the successful completion of the pilot program.
Is there a cost for the program?
Yes, participants participating in the pilot programs will be responsible for a portion of the tuition for the course as well as an application fee.
Are there scholarships available to interested participants?
Yes, applicable participants can qualify for a partial or a full scholarship for the program.
